Rain, Rain GO AWAY!

In Montana we very seldom get RAIN! So, it is quite surprising that for the last SEVEN DAYS it has rained almost the entire time!!! There are places in the state flooding...very uncommon! We were at the cabin from Friday until Monday and had a great time, but were very happy to be in a cabin and not in a TENT! :) We had a full cabin on Sunday night....Grandma and Grandpa (w/ dog Sasha), Kari, Jason (w/ dog Molly), Karl, Jasmine, Thomas, Adam & Jessica! Yes...that is 13 people with 3 dogs in one little cabin! :) It was a good time...but wish it would have been nicer outside so we could have been playing out there more! :)

On a side note...Rain = no work on the house! :( They were suppose to pour the basement floor last Tuesday, but then it got moved to Wednesday--- when the rain started. Then they moved it to today, but it is raining again, so I am guessing Wednesday or Thursday at the earliest. I hope to have some progress pictures before the end of the week! :)

And, one last note, my heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to Holly and Amanda. Glen, we will miss you and love you tons!

Graduation Day

Tell me this....how did my little girl go from this little baby to ready for Kindergarten?!?!


Yesterday (Wed, May 21) Hailey finished her last day of preschool! I cannot believe she has went to preschool for an entire year...let alone TWO YEARS already! She is ready for kindergarten, I know that, but I don't know if I am ready yet!! :) It doesn't seem like that long ago I was laying in the hospital looking at my daughter for the first time, watching her walk for the first time, say "ma ma" for the first time, kiss her brother for the first time (and look even older when she came to the hospital to see us), and go to preschool for the first time. In 3 short months she will be starting school for the first time. I need to work on getting ready for that so I am not a complete mess on Tuesday, August 26th when she goes off to "the big school" for the first time.

So, in recognition of Hailey finishing preschool, and me being a FREAK wanting to celebrate everything and anything (hey...it will make a great scrapbook page too)...we decided to have a little celebration for Hailey. We didn't let her know anything. We picked her up from daycare and said she could pick where ever she wanted to go to eat...of course it was Chinese. Then after we got home, she found a special cake, small presents and Grandma and Papa got her flowers and a gift card to McDonald's. She kept calling it her "gradulations party" (instead of "graduation party") and thought it was very special! She just loved it...and we all did too!! Even Auntie Kari stopped out to say congratulations to her. It was a fun night!! :)

At her last day of preschool, the kids sang song for the parents there and then we watched a video of their pictures over the year. The next picture is of Hailey with her teachers and her two best friends there (teachers Debbie, Jeanni, and Jan --- friends Kaylee, Jessica, Hailey).


Back at home, Hailey took a picture with her cake and flowers (the girl LOVES flowers and loves having them in HER ROOM!)

Garden time

On Tuesday night we went over to Grandma and Papa's house to plant the garden and play. It was a good thing we did that because Wednesday and Thursday have been nothing put RAIN here!!

Hailey had a good time planting the garden with Grandma. She helped put the seeds in, cover them up, and give them a nice little pat! :) Now she just wants them to grow!!


Ryan had the most fun finding a worm at the beginning of the planting time. Then he was off to the swing set, playing t-ball, in the sandbox, etc....until it was time to plant flowers then he came back over to help, then was back to playing!!


These pictures are for Tim & Kendra .... take a look at how long the grass was in the backyard. Notice you can hardly see Ryan's legs!!! And, Chris decided it was time for Doran to get a little wet. The kids loved it...Doran did not. :)

Loose tooth

We officially have a loose tooth in our house!!!!!!! It is a top one...the big ones....right in the middle. The person with this tooth could care less about it. See, it isn't Hailey...it is RYAN!!! This weekend Hailey looked at Ryan and said "Ryan it looks like you have a loose tooth." How suspicious!!! So, I took a look and sure enough one of Ryan's teeth is loose. I never thought the tooth fairy would come to RYAN before Hailey!! :) She is going to be MAD when his falls out first. Her teeth are not interested in going anywhere yet. Poor Ryan...he is going to be without a tooth there for a looooong time! :) Might need to make a trip to the dentist for Ryan.

Don't worry...you know there will be a looong post with tons of pictures when the tooth really does come out! :)

Is it summer??!

Hey Ryan....why are you wet?!?!?!

Ryan must have thought it was SUMMER outside last night (Monday, May 19)....cause when he was suppose to be playing in the sand or on the swing set, he decided to GO THROUGH THE SPRINKLER instead! I asked him if it was cold (which I know it was COLD water!), he said no! He just kept going up to the sprinkler over and over again! :) This from the kid that was AFRAID of the sprinklers last year!! He was freezing by the time he let me put dry clothes on him. Poor kid! I hope he doesn't get sick because it wasn't that warm out...lower 70s I think...and it was windy. He is crazy! :)

The second picture is of Chris running through with him! Ryan can get Chris to do most anything! :)

T-ball team

Saturday, May 17 Hailey had her first team pictures!! T-ball pictures were at the park and it was so nice out. Well...it was H-O-T outside (it got to 89 degrees that day!)!! Here is the picture I took of her team. Hailey is in the middle front holding her pink bat! :) Of course the team was looking at the professional photographer as they should be :)

Zoo visit

On Thursday, May 15 Hailey got to go to the zoo with her preschool class as their last field trip. It was a nice day, but a little cloudy. We had a lot of fun seeing the animals and just enjoying being outside and having FUN! :) I did get some great animal pictures, but only included Hailey's favorite...the otters! :) She is excited that she got to see the bear, but he cannot come out for another 2-3 weeks. Sounds like we will have another trip to the zoo then!

House Update : Walls

Last week the house didn't make too much progress--visually that is. The forms are down and we have all the walls for the basement and garage done. The plumbers were in there working in the basement, we added an electrical outlet in the floor, and the did some other miscellaneous items.

This week should get the basement floor poured and maybe even given to the framers by the end of the week!!!

Mother's Day

Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all my friends and family members! My mother's day was great!! I got to sleep in a little bit (every minute is great)...then the kids came to wake me up...and we had yummy pancakes made by Chris. Then the kids got to play outside while I worked on cleaning up the inside of the house while Chris worked on the yard. Not what I wanted to be doing, but when you have an open house ...something you have to do! Then the kids when over to Doug & Doran's to spend some time there while Chris & I talked with people at the open house. We weren't sure if it was a good idea having an open house on Mother's day or not...but it worked out great!! There weren't too many open so more people came to ours ;) We keep hoping something will come out of it!! Then everyone came back over for supper at our house. It was a busy day, but a fun day too!!

Here is what the kids and Chris got me. I LOVE my cards...and my new, super nice measuring cups and spoons!! They are something I will use ALL THE TIME, and would never spend the money on myself...so it was a great gift! :)


Then, Hailey gave me the following items too (all things that she just found in her room, but still a cute moment :)). And, then when the kids were outside they picked me A LOT of dandelions! :)

Branding 2008

We spent all day Saturday, May 10 (Happy Anniversary Dad & Mom) at the ranch. Chris, Randy, Doug, Adam, Karl and Jason all worked on branding. The kids played with Arna until I got there with Jasmine and Jessica. We had so much fun and Ryan kept asking if he could sleep over there and have breakfast! :)

When Ryan saw Chris riding on the motorcycle, he freaked out! He couldn't get a word out and was trying to get his shoes on so fast. It was funny! He asks us all the time why he cannot have a motorcycle without pedals (his bike looks like a motorcycle). He got to go on a ride with Chris...then it was Hailey's turn. Ryan didn't want to give his sister a turn! :) So, he got to get back on after her again! :)

The kids also got to have another fun experience....

So, we brought Hailey's gun with and she was so excited to shoot her PINK GUN for the first time. Well, Chris forgot the key to unlock the trigger, so she had to shoot his gun instead. She handled the news very well. Ryan got to shoot the gun as well, but was having more fun with his toy gun! :) At least they were only shooting at pop cans! :)

And, here is just a fun picture of Ryan. Chris LOVES this truck at the ranch and we always have to stop and look at it. Well, Ryan & I were walking back after watching the branding and I quickly snapped a few pictures of him by the truck. Cute, huh? :)

He did it!!

On Friday, May 9th, Ryan got a certificate from daycare (one I wasn't sure he would ever get)...."Ryan Pilcher is potty trained! I'm not a baby anymore!" YAHOO RYAN!!! He was so excited that he got to wear underwear to Toddle Town on Monday. I was too! ;) So, when we picked him up, I expected to see him in new clothes. NOPE! He was dry all day yesterday...even at nap! He loved that he got to sit at the "big kid table" for lunch and snack too. My baby is growing up too fast. He isn't at the cute baby table...he is with the big kids. What happened?!?! Where did the time to?!?! Ryan, we are so proud of you, little man! :)

House progress

So, quite a bit happening in the past few days. They have poured the footings....


And today we went out at lunch time to see the WALL FORMS! Whoa...that changes it A LOT! :)


Then, Chris and I went out again about 3pm and found them POURING THE WALLS!! They weren't suppose to do that until Monday, so we are ahead of schedule. I wonder how long that will last. :)

The sign

When we got to the lot yesterday (Tuesday) we found "THE SIGN"....it says it is ours! :) The Pilcher Residence ... Job #355 .... 5830 Autumnwood Drive...whoa! The kids were excited to bring shovels and buckets to play in all the sand!



On Tuesday they did get the footings all formed, but not poured. As long as the rain holds out today, I think they should be able to pour the footings today. Now if only we could sell our old house so we could actually enjoy this part!

Ready for footings

We went to check on the "dirt" last night. They have finished the over compaction in the basement and the garages. Today (Tuesday) they should be setting the footings and pouring them too. By the end of the week they should have the forms up for the walls...with them being pours next Monday! Walls by this time next week!!! YAHOO!! :)

oh...you can see that the basement isn't as deep...as well as the garage too (where the kids are jumping from in the 3rd picture). That is because of the over compaction. The kids were having so much fun jumping and playing last night. They will be so disappointed when they actually start building the house! :)

Curly hair

Last Thursday, the kids got their haircuts. Hailey LOVES having this done...as she always gets her hair all "pretty" by Kirstina! :) This time she wanted 2 french braids...and it looked great. Last night we had to take them out...and whoa...look at "Curly Hailey"! :) She thought that it was funny that her hair was so curly. :)
