It is time for the kids to get wet and improve on their swimming skills! They haven't been in the pool (for lessons) since August, so now is a great time! They will be in lessons for 2 nights a week for at least January and February (maybe March...but we are usually tired of the busy nights by then!). They LOVE the water! Both kids went right in...and were MAD when I said no to staying after for extra swimming after lessons (I know...I am a mean mommy!). Hailey continues in level 5 (out of 6 levels) and Ryan moved up to level 3 this time. Both kids are now interested in being on a swim team too (only because I told them they could win metals!). So, maybe next fall we will look into that!
Here is a video that Chris took on his phone of Ryan "diving." You will probably want to play it again and again and again...and try not to laugh too hard or loudly! :) He is closest to us...sitting on the edge of the pool. Enjoy! :)

Hair cuts
Last night was finally haircut night again! Hailey has been complaining that her bangs are too long...and Ryan, well, he was just shaggy again! Ryan keeps asking for "long hair" or a mo-hawk, but of course you probably know our answer to both of those. Poor kid. They were happy to go, watch a movie, and get their hair done. And, I was happy too! :)
Sleigh ride
Again this year there was a sleigh ride around the loop at the cabin. It was a little chilly out, but well worth it! The kids loved it...and Hailey even got to "drive" which she loved as well. We stopped for hot cocoa 1/2 way around the loop and then had a chance to thank the horses. Look at the beautiful sky, mountains and trees. Amazing! :) It doesn't get too much better than this! :)

Welcome back!
Well, it is 2011 already...time for me to just not worry about updating the blog and start fresh in the new year. I missed posting, but once I get a month behind it is hard to update. Then, 2 months behind. Then, well, you know how it goes! I cannot promise I will update as much as I did in 2009, but it should be more than 2010! :)
We had an AMAZING weekend at the cabin. We went up there on Thursday afternoon, and didn't get home until late Sunday afternoon. What did we do!??! Ummm...one word...RELAX! :) I cannot tell you how many games we played, but it was FUN! The kids LOVE Sorry Sliders, Qwirkle, Farkle, Yahtzee, Pass the Pigs, and so many other games. We didn't even watch that many movies we were too busy playing games!
Hailey also read THREE books while we were up there, and was using her timer to see how long it took her to finish the book (right around an hour a book) and would write a book report about it as well. She thought it was FUN...and I did too! :)
I will post a few pictures when I figure out how to get them off my NEW camera!!! :) Don't get too excited....it is a little point and shoot camera that I can carry in my purse. I got a new scrapbook I wanted last year, but didn't get to it, so this is the year. One picture every day...and a little caption about it. Not much. I am very excited to do it! It will showcase our LIFE...not just the big events of it. I want the kids to remember the little things...trips to Costco, playing with the cats, warming up their scented animals in the microwave before bed, what a mess the entry way looks like the night before school starts, etc. It is the little things that matter, and that is what I will focus on with this album. ;) I hope this excitement continues for the entire year! :)
