House update (8/28)

The framing is really coming together now!! :) The cabinet crew was in again yesterday and finished up the crown around the cabinets, installed the bench by the door to the garage (picture below), and installed more pulls on the cabinets. All the bathroom tops are ready for sinks and fixtures!! :)

And a final picture of the outside. The siding crew finished up a few days ago, but I forgot to take a picture. I think the painters will start next week...that will change it A LOT!

House update (8/26 & 8/27)

Again, not that much to take pictures of for Tuesday. More trim, but that was about all. Wednesday there was more done, but I didn't get too many pictures. I will blame it on my cold and not being "all there." The countertops went in!!! Hard to see them as they covered them up with cardboard. My cooktop is in too!! :) The closets were all prepared for painting, and there was a painter there working on the touch ups too. More trim of course too. The upstairs is almost all done now. All the countertops were also in (the bathrooms and the laundry room) and more knobs are on the cabinets. Fun stuff....hopefully I take pictures of it tomorrow :)

Soccer

Hailey had her first night of soccer practice tonight. She was very excited about going, but wasn't thrilled with the equipment she had to wear...all black and white. She told me MANY TIMES that it was "boy" stuff and she wanted pretty girl ones! :) She did FANTASTIC though! She was excited to know 2 girls there and went right now and was running around and kicking the ball in no time. Some of the time she resorted to her normal...picking grass and looking around and even sitting down, but most of the time she was right there with everyone. Things were rushed so I didn't get pictures this time, but I can guarantee you that next week you will see my little soccer star! :)

1st day of school

Hailey was SO EXCITED for her first day of school!! On Monday night we took her pictures at the new house so each year we can watch her grow. :) She was of course in "model-mode" and loved it.

Then it was Tuesday morning...time for the first day of school. Everything was ready for her...new backpack and shoes ready to go! And her favorite sticky buns ready to go in her tummy! :)

She wanted to wake up to her alarm, so I got that set up. Her alarm should have went off at 7:10, so about 7:15 I started to go upstairs to get her, and she came out of her room....add dressed and bed made!! She was worried she was late for Kindergarten and told me we might need to set her clock for earlier so she won't be late. :) She came down and ate her breakfast good, cleaned her earrings, brushed her teeth, and was ready to go! :) We of course had to take more pictures outside, and then we all loaded into the car to go to the school.

Hailey saw Mrs. Jensen and got right in line. We had a wait for the other kids to get there, but before long they were all lined up...ready to go inside the school. Believe it or not, but no one in her class was crying (that I saw anyway). They all just followed behind Mrs. Jensen...and that was it. It was time to wait.........and wait............and wait..........and wait to see how the first day of school went.

The first day did go good. Hailey told me some names of new kids in her class, and was excited that Bella from gymnastics last year was at the school too in another class but she saw her at recess. She told me about lunch and how some kids got hot lunch but her whole table had cold lunches. She made a frog picture, but didn't get to finish it. She LOVED the dark story time after lunch where they lay down and listen to a book. She got to have a frog cookie because it was her first day (her teacher loves frogs if you haven't figured that out). She sang a new song to us. And a few other things too! Overall I think the day was a success! :) And, she even agreed to go again today with no tears or fighting, so I am happy.

Going....going....going.....

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, it is TRUE....we SOLD the house yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D Talk about GREAT NEWS!!!! We will move into the new house in early to mid October, and close on both houses on October 30th. We will be trick-or-treating at the NEW HOUSE!!

So...update your address books!!! 5830 Autumnwood Drive will be the new address!!

House update (8/25)

Quick little update...only thing that was worked on was the trim. It looks great, but hard to get good pictures right now. He was working in the basement, and it was almost done! :) What a difference that makes!!! Hopefully he works on the upstairs today so we have some better pictures for you.

Pictures : the corners ; extra bedroom closet doors ; Chris office...baseboard done too (note : the lovely WHITE plastic handles on the doors will be replaced before we move in :) )

Cabin weekend

We had another FUN weekend at the cabin. The weather was wonderful...even a little bit on the hot side on Sunday. :) We got up there on Friday night and had time to actually make supper there instead of leaving late and having to pick something up. Then, we drove to the other side of the mountain to see our neighbors from across the street that were camping over there. Hailey is really good friends with their daughter Crystal and we have gotten to know them too. We spent time over there....around the fire, playing, having s'mores, etc. It was a nice night...but a late one too. Both kids fell asleep on the way back to the cabin!!

Saturday morning we got up, had our usual big breakfast, and then went back over to the other side of the mountain to go fishing at Greenough (or the kids call it "Green-oh"). We would have usually went to Wild Bill, but that is still closed because of the fire. We had to "hike" about 1/4 mile to get there...too much for Ryan, but fine for Hailey, but they had so much fun when we were there. Crystal and her family was there, so that occupied Hailey and Ryan some too. They did do some fishing, but mostly playing. AND, they both ended up playing in the water...it was SO COLD but they didn't care. Both were running around in their underware before too long ;) After fishing, we stopped back at the camper before going back to the cabin for lunch and naps! :)

On the way back to the cabin we did get a chance to see this MONSTER BUCK! Watch out...if Chris has any say in it, you will be on our wall! :) He was only 1/4 - 1/2 mile from the cabin so Chris is really on the look out now! :)

We ended Saturday night with a fire at the cabin. The kids enjoyed roasting smokies (Ryan) and marshmallows (Hailey).

On Sunday, Doug & Doran came up to spend the day with us. Most of day was spend hauling wood to get ready for winter...and Ryan was right there helping too!! And, Hailey had a "water stand." As you can see from her sign...prices went DOWN! ONE PENNY, but you had to reuse your cup and didn't get too much. :) She made about a dollar off of us and was so excited. Doran and I did take the kids in town to see the animals at the zoo and then it was time to get home. Busy weekend, but we loved every minute of it! :)

House update (8/21 & 8/22)

We weren't able to get inside the house on Thursday for a few reason....late night at school with Hailey and the doors were taped off. The tile guys were in there on Thursday grouting all the tile and it was still drying. So, on Friday were were able to finally get in there and see how it looks...and we love it! :) Another picture of the entry way all done and the tile in the mud room too . If you notice on the entry way picture you will see some of the trim placed in the closet already. I cannot wait to see this all around the house!! :)


Speaking of trim, all of the closets are now done. I am guessing the painters will be in sometime soon to paint those and they will be ready to be stocked up full! :) The pictures below give you a little preview (they will never be this empty again!)...the pantry, master closet (only half of it), Hailey's closet (I LOVE her closet...she is spoiled!!), and Ryan's closet).


Two other little things...the counter tops are in for the kid's bathroom, the basement bathroom, and the laundry room. And, the first door is up! Of course on Chris' office...so a preview of doors! :)

A school-ager already?!?!

I have been dreading this post...it is hard to think about and write about. My little girl is starting kindergarten tomorrow (Tuesday, Aug. 26)!! On Thursday, Aug 21, we were able to go to the school and meet her teacher (Mrs. Jensen) and see where our little girl will be spending her days for the next year. We were all excited, but I have to tell you what a strange feeling it was walking into the classroom...a real classroom...and knowing that Hailey will be in there now. How can I have a school-ager already?? Didn't I just give birth to her a few days ago??? I remember spending those first weeks of her life at home with her. We had fun...shopping, taking pictures, talking, getting to know each other, and of course napping too! I want those days back!!! My sweet little girl is now old enough to go to school. It is hard to let go...and if you know me it is only going to be as little as I can. :) I looked at her teacher that night and had a hard time knowing that this stranger was going to be watching over my girl...a piece of me...a piece of my heart....during the day. I have to let go (just a little) and know Hailey will be fine, but it is hard. Tomorrow will be difficult dropping her off, but I know she will be fine. She is so excited!! She WANTS to go! She is ready...more than me for sure. So, for her, I will be strong. I won't show her my emotions...my sadness that my little girl is growing up. I will show her my happiness that my little girl IS growing up...and becoming a wonderful little lady. And, I will be so happy when it is finally time to pick her up and see how her first day went.

We all love you, princess, and know you will do so good at school and will have a lot of fun and meet a lot of nice new friends. We are so proud of you! Love you tons!!! :)

Our model

I know I have no one to blame but myself, but really...Hailey loves to have pictures taken! :) Last night we went on a little shopping spree at Target to get a new outfit for the 1st day of school and also use the money from Grandpa and Grandma Buckhouse to buy another outfit. When we got home, I wanted Hailey to try them on to make sure they fit okay. Then, since the camera was sitting there from going to see the new house, I decided I would just take a quick picture. Then she started posing! NO prompting from me at all...she just started moving around and wanted me to take more pictures! :) She is a girl!!!
