Wednesday house update

Well, not as nice of a day today as yesterday, but there was still progress. The morning started out with RAIN AGAIN! So, the guys working on our house were pulled into another house. There were able to work on our house for the afternoon though. They got my garage done, and also an interior wall on the main floor up. They are starting on Chris' garage too so I expect that to go up tomorrow along with more interior walls. It is estimated to take about 3 weeks to complete the framing. Oh...next week they also plan to pour the cement on the porch too. Very exciting!!!

Whoa...what a day!

Well, today has to be one of the most exciting for the house. Digging the basement was fun. Pouring the walls was good too. But, actually SEEING the house...that is AMAZING!!! The kids had fun when I was showing them all the rooms, but keep asking where their rooms are. They think it is funny when I point to the sky and say "That is your room!!" :) We could have stayed out there longer, but supper was burning at home.

1st dentist visit

This morning was Ryan's first trip to the dentist!! Believe it or not, he was so excited to go! (so...when does it change from excitement to dread!?!?) He walked right in there, did everything the hygienist asked him to do, and didn't really say much of anything! He only was able to get the front x-rays, but sat still for those. He let the dentist count his teeth, etc. I was so proud of him!!!!! And, we did find out that his front tooth has been like that for some time. There are only about a hundred different incidents in this little boys life that could have caused this tooth to come loose. It will fall out soon ... and then he will have to wait for the next one :)

Ryan, great job buddy!!! We are so proud of you for being a big boy!!!

Yippee...progress

Tonight was a crazy night!! We started with Hailey's t-ball game at 5:15. Great Grandma and Maureen came. Then, Grandma, Papa, and Kari came too!! The last three got there just in time for the nasty cloud to hang over the game...and then LIGHTNING! So...the game was called, but that was good since it was getting COLD and starting to rain.

We decided to drive by the house to hopefully see some work done. I have to admit, I was very disappointed when we first drove up there. I thought they didn't do a thing!! However, after getting out, I found that they did in fact work today! :) The poured the garage floors (they look awesome!) and finished the main floor!!! And, they did get the east wall done (our bedroom and bathroom and closet...they even remembered my bathroom window!!). The kids loved walking "in" the house...but their mommy was scared of the hole to the basement! :) Tomorrow the main floor walls should go up! YAHOO! Now...can someone please just buy the old house now?!?!? (on a side note...all the fliers are gone AGAIN from the house! I think we must have printed over 100-150 of those things! they fly out of there! someone should want it!!!!)

Weekend fun (cabin)

After Hailey's t-ball game on Friday night, we drove up to the cabin. We were only able to stay one night, but it was so worth it! How much fun can you have in one Saturday at the cabin?!?! TONS!!! It was the most wonderful day...complete with perfect weather. Ahh...love the mountains!

So...what did we do!??! First, Chris found out that "Mike the moose" is back...and she walked right in front of our cabin while we were sleeping! Darn it!! Doesn't Mike know I have a new camera and I want PICTURES!!??! :) Then the kids went on a long 4-wheeler ride with Chris and picked some flowers for me :) Hailey helped plant some more flowers too by scattering some seeds.


Now was time for some playing...Ryan played with the golf ball game...and then they both tried to learn how to jump rope.


Then they helped Chris bring wood from the front to the back, and even helped pull the pole out of the ground. Hailey ended the day with her first "water sale". She wanted to start at $10 for a bottle...then I talked her down to $1...finally down to $.25! :) She did raise her price to a dollar after some sales. :)


It was a fun time! :) Unfortunately we had to go home last night, but it was worth the trip!

House progress

FINALLY....it stopped raining!! On Wed (5/28) they poured the basement floor!! Then on Thursday they started with getting the wood on top of the poured walls and also back-filled a little more. It is looking so much better now without the HUGE piles of dirt by the house! :) It is so exciting to see some progress!!!



And of course the kids were all silly...playing in the dirt. They didn't like that almost the whole house is back-filled, but they will get over it! :) And, the last picture is of Ryan...being.....well.....Ryan! :)


Friday there was MORE PROGRESS too! They got the whole basement framed, and the floor joists on too! This next week will be HUGE for progress. I will try to update every night if possible.

Dance/gymnastics recital

Wednesday, May 28th was Hailey's last day of dance and gymnastics at the Little Gym. It is sad to say that they are closing the gym...it is just a fun, bright, great place for kids. I wanted to get Ryan in a sports class there in the fall, but unless someone comes in to buy it quickly I am afraid that won't happen.

Last day of Girl Scouts

Tuesday, May 27th was Hailey last day of Girl Scouts for this year. She will be a daisy again next year as you need to be in 1st grade to move to Brownies. She had a lot of fun...mostly the playing and treat time, but did learn too during her nights with the girls. It is so great to see Hailey recite the Girl Scout promise by heart ... ahhh my little girl. :)

On their last night they really got to just celebrate their new friendships! They played tag, twister, and just ran around too! Of course we did take time to have a few pictures as well.

Hot stuff

For Memorial weekend we went to the cabin. The kids were very excited to stay there for THREE NIGHTS! We spent the first 2 nights there alone...just the 4 of us. On Saturday morning Ryan was "helping" make breakfast and he has an obsession with candles...he HAS to blow them out! Well, Chris said "look at his hair". Yep, Ryan got a little too close to the candle...notice the tip of his bangs! :) Poor kid! And to think his mommy made his sit there until she could get a picture ;)


It rained all weekend long, so we went for a drive to see how busy the campgrounds where. Well, just up the mountain a little there was SNOW! Yes, Memorial day weekend and people were camping in the snow! :) DIE HARDS!!!
