1st snowman of the season

Since Ryan had to get shots yesterday, we told him he could pick what we had for supper. Of course he picked McDonald's!! Then, we went to see Santa. They were both all ready for it, agreed to sit on his lap and tell him what they wanted, etc. As soon as we get in the mall, Ryan YELLS "HI SANTA!!!!!" and waves at him. BUT, by the time we walked over there he wanted NOTHING to do with sitting on his lap! Hailey didn't either, but we talked her into it and she did great. Ryan's picture is of him screaming with his arms up for Chris to save him. Maybe next year :)

When we got home, the snow was in good shape for building a snowman. It was actually very warm outside (and today it is in the mid 50s) so it was now or never! The kids had fun and Hailey made sure the snowman had EVERYTHING he should have!! She even wanted a broom!! :) Poor little snowman...his head was on the ground this morning...and I don't think too much of him is left now. :( I am sure there will be more opportunities to build another snowman! :)

He's growing!!

Ryan went in for his 3 year check yesterday and I am so proud to report...HE IS ON THE CHART!!!! He is now in the 3rd percentile for weight (26 pounds with clothes and a wet diaper) and 25 percentile for height (36.5"). He is growing...just slowly. I blame Chris!! :)

He also got two shots...the flu shot and the second vaccine for chicken pox. Ask him about it anytime...he will be happy to share the story with you! :)

Christmas Crafts

Our first craft for the season was making beaded candy canes and wreaths. The kids liked the candy canes...I made the wreaths!! :) Hailey had a lot of fun making these on Saturday when we were at the cabin. Even Ryan got into it for a little bit. It was fun to watch him concentrate so hard on getting the bead on the pipe cleaner! They were very proud of their finished products!! We then took the finished crafts and used them as our ornaments for our tree at the cabin! And it looks FANTASTIC! :) They were both asking to make more, so I think we will do that again soon! :) A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (and EASY and not messy at all) craft for any age group! :)

Picking out the perfect tree

On Friday, Chris, Hailey, Ryan, Doug and I went to National Forest in Red Lodge (we stayed at the cabin from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon) to pick out our own Christmas tree. Clay, Marjie, Brian and the other guys were up there too. The kids were excited to put on their snow pants, hats, boots, etc. Hailey LOVED getting in the sled, but Ryan only lasted about 1 minute before he wanted to be held. He enjoyed going on the 4-wheeler much more!! Chris picked out our tree. There was too much snow for us to be walking in...so he went on his own while the kids and I went to the cabin for hot cocoa and popcorn (Ryan's choice!!). We still LOVE our first tree that we got from the Red Lodge forest...and cannot wait to put ornaments on it TONIGHT!

"New" rooms

One of the highlights of Thursday was showing Ryan his new "Big Boy Bed/Room"!! He was so excited!!! He immediately ran to his bed and got on top (only to hit his head on his headboard right away!!). After finding his stuffed animals on his bed, he was down on the floor doing a little dance! :) Very fun!! :) He took a good nap in his bed before the turkey was done...but took a while for him to stay PUT (he liked getting out and coming to the top of the stairs!!). We hope soon he will just stay in his bed like his sister!!

Winter is HERE!!

Yesterday we got a little surprise....

I didn't know we would get THIS MUCH SNOW...but we did. Welcome Winter!! The kids were all excited to try out their new boots this morning, so I grabbed the camera after seeing how much fun it was for them. They didn't want to come in the car to go to daycare though! :) Remember how exciting it was to have new boots and go in the new, fresh snow?? :)

Yesterday was also a very busy day off for me! I rearranged and DEEP CLEANED Hailey's room. She got home not knowing I was doing that...and freaked out (in a good way). She was so confused that her bed used to be on that wall, but now it is on this wall...etc. It was fun. I thought she needed something special because Ryan's room is changing BIG TIME TOMORROW!!!!!! :)

Stone Soup

Sorry for lack of updating...but that is what happens when things are not so boring and I am off of work too! :)

Last Thursday I went to preschool with Hailey for a "Stone Soup" party. We had this last year too and it is always fun to watch her in "action" with her buddies! We had the soup, read the story, and did a few projects. Fun day...for mommy and Hailey! :)

Boring life...

Life has been kind of quiet right now and I am certainly NOT COMPLAINING!!! :) We still have been busy with Hailey having swimming lessons two nights a week and dance/gymnastics one night a week. And, can you believe Thanksgiving is one week away?!?! I am in denial of that! :) We did have a funny story from last night .....

Kids were in bed by 8:00, and Chris and I were both busy. Chris was talking on the phone (yap yap yap) and I was making cookies (for a scrapbooking event on Friday). A little before 9:00, Chris got off the phone and we were both in the kitchen and heard a noise from upstairs. We look up there to see a little shadow...Ryan is up! :) We go up there and he says "I wanna cookie!" So, we let him get up and enjoy a cookie! (shhh...don't tell Hailey...she was sleeping!!) He was half asleep while eating his cookie, but it was sure fun. And, believe it or not, he went right to sleep after sugar!!
