Swimming again

Just wanted to share this cute picture of Hailey in the water....And a video or two or three or four or even five...... :)

Here is Ryan doing a bob...all the way under and acting silly! :)

This one is of Hailey swimming...and knowing that I am there with the camera on her :)

And another one of Ryan, jumping into the pool. As you can tell, he isn't too comfortable with being on his back yet. It takes some time, but finally he gets there! :)

Here is Hailey swimming on her own across the entire pool. Sure, it isn't straight, but still good. :)

And a bonus one of Hailey jumping in like a pencil and then swimming across the pool by herself.

House update (8/6 and 8/7)

On Wednesday, Aug. 6 the painters were back inside! They got the ceilings all painted, and it looks much better now! :) Only thing there is a lot of touch ups, but thankfully it isn't us that has to do them!! The first picture below is of Hailey's room. Her room will have a light pink on the top that is now white. The second picture is of the kitchen.


They also worked on the yard a little too...just smoothing things out. Looking better every day!


On Thursday, 8/7 the flooring started!! I didn't get out there so no pictures, but Chris said it looks good! :)

Swimming lessons again!

Ahhh...time for more swimming lessons for both kids. They started on Monday...and go Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week and the same schedule next week as well. Ryan was SO EXCITED when he got in the water and found out that Denis was his "teacher boy" again!!! Hailey of course was just happy to get in the water. :) The nice thing about me having my old camera is that I can post some videos of the kids. Tonight I mostly got Ryan, but tomorrow I will work on Hailey! :)

And one last video of him using his "monster arms" to find his ring that is at the bottom of the pool. He cannot find it, but once he did he put his whole head under the water!

House update (8/5)

Not too much done on the house today...probably the least done in a looong time (if ever). I guess the painters were letting the paint dry really good before taping the ceilings to paint those tomorrow. Also, good thing I asked about the garage...they didn't realize they were suppose to paint that! :) That will be done tomorrow too. The only thing done that I saw was the back yard no longer has a pile of dirt in it. They have spread the dirt over the yard and it looks nice. The kids will be disappointed as they loved climbing up the dirt pile! :) Oh well. :)

House update (8/4)

The rock is now done on the outside of the house...and we love it! :) They uncovered the front door too, so you can see that with the rock. The beams will be stained the same color as the front door...pretty!

And today they also painted the walls. It is darker than the primer...we knew it would be. But, we had such doubts about the color we picked. It was a scary moment for us...but it is very nice. We like the color a lot and are happy with our choice. The pictures don't really show the true color, but we definitely have color on the walls! :) Tomorrow is the ceiling and the garages I am guessing.

House update (8/3)

Oh my goodness...we went out to the house this morning and were busy looking at the finished mailbox, then the textured garages (they look very nice!!!) and the kids went right into the house. Hailey yelled back at us "There is paint in here!" I thought she meant paint cans...but NO...they PAINTED already! Well, after we looked at it closer and at the cans, it is actually tinted primer, but still...there is color on the walls! It looks so good too. Chris and I are both very nervous about the color of paint we picked out. It is so hard to decide when you have this small sample to look at, and we picked one color for the entire inside. Monday they will probably paint the walls. Then they must paint the ceilings after that. Pretty fun!!

Also, there is a playground just a block or two down from our new house, so we walked down there this morning. The kids LOVE it! :) As you can see, I have two monkeys :)

Fire update

Last night the evacuation notice for our subdivision was lifted at the cabin. Well, we are still in "pre-evacuation" status, but better that we can go in there if we want to. The fire is more contained today, and hopefully every day it gets better. Those guys are working so hard to stop the fire --- THANK YOU! As long as the winds don't pick up, they will continue to make progress. NO WIND PLEASE!! :)

Julie -- just wanted to THANK YOU again for the beautiful flowers you sent me. They really did make my day..and made my week end on a much nicer note. Nice to have something to look at and smile about instead of stressing over something else. Thank you for helping me through a difficult week, and I hope we get to see each other soon. House update (8/1)

We had a showing at the house this afternoon so went to visit the new house. :) We couldn't go inside the house...the painters were in there!!!!!!!! YIKES!!! We think they are probably just priming the walls and ceilings today. The guys were all there working on the rock again. The outside is soooo close to being done. Look at the entry way...cool, huh? Chris is absolutely in love with it...and it is EXACTLY what he wanted. I will admit it looks great, but those bases are HUGE! I wonder if I will ever get used to the size of them. The mailbox was almost done too, but I didn't take a picture of that when the guys were working on it. Maybe this weekend I will get one. :)

Next week...paint will be done early in the week, flooring starts, and trim starts too! Now is when I get nervous...cause this will be all our decisions coming together. I hope it all looks good.

House update (7/31)

We cannot get over how different the house looks! It looks FINISHED...it is a house now! :) We had to go to the house today to look at paint colors (eek) and talk to the painter. They are finishing up the garage taping and will be spraying the texture on that on Friday.

The rock crew was out there again too..making great progress outside. They said they hope to finish up the outside of the house on Friday...then they move to the inside to work on the fireplaces.

The big news of Thursday...the windows are in the living room finally! And they look great!! :) It took a long time to get them in, but they look awesome and well worth the wait. :)
