House update (9/8)

Okay...so BIG CHANGE on Monday. Take a look!!!

They painted all the trim on the outside. So, given that the sun was setting and the colors are a little off, I will try to get more pictures later. But, trust me, it looks great!! :) We love it!!!!

The only other change was even more trim was done. Mainly the big "window wall." It really looks nice with the trim on there!! Take a look out the windows in the picture too. See the horse?? There were 3 horses right by the fence in our backyard. Good thing Hailey & Ryan weren't there to see them...they would have wanted them to stay forever! :)

Best I never had

Ryan is quite the talker lately! He has been saying the following for a few weeks and it cracks us up every time!! This morning he was eating a bagel with peanut butter on it...and he said :

"This is delicious. It is the best I never had."

He will say it over and over and over again! It is funny what foods get this reaction, and it is fun to hear it. Love ya, little man! :)

"Wall-eyeds"

Ryan LOVES to go fishing. However, he is always disappointed when we go to Greenough or Wild Bill and he only gets trout. See, Ryan wants to catch a walleye every time...or "walleyed" if you ask him. He was very excited when Chris told him that he was going to go fishing for walleyes on Sunday! And, Ryan was even more excited when they came home with some!!! :) Actually...they came back with their limit of 10! :) We had 3 happy Pilcher boys proud of the "walleyeds" and I am sure all 3 of them will enjoy supper tonight. Any guesses on what we are having?!?!

1st soccer game

Hailey had her first soccer game on Saturday. It was raining all morning and then she came home with a "headache" at lunch time so I didn't know how she would do with pictures at 1:45 and the game at 2:30. She said she didn't want to play...but I told her she had to go for pictures and also go and support her team. Funny how when she got there and found her fiends she was all better!! :) Here is the picture I took of her (I am sure the photographer loved that I was snapping pictures too...but he didn't say anything and I did buy some too ;)..and one of her team. Notice how most of the girls have the same hair color and they are all about the same height and of course all in kindergarten. :)

And here are a few action shots of Hailey during the game. She did VERY GOOD and was out there running and trying to get the ball. No goals by Hailey, but that is fine! :) We need to work on her being a little more aggressive and also concentrating on the game and not playing with her friends. :) She is having fun though and that is the most important!!! GREAT JOB HAILEY!!!

House update (9/5)

Chris and I went out to the house on Friday before picking the kids up and there were a few things done! :) It was exciting for me to see the kitchen coming together....my faucet is in, the dishwasher is in, and the gas line to the cooktop is now installed. The main thing left now is to install the double ovens and the fridge! :) (and of course to CLEAN!!!) I am ready to move in...and just in time for Christmas baking...TROUBLE! :)

The electricians also started on Friday night (Thanks to Ed and Lynn!!)...so we are starting to get outlets and switches. I cannot wait to get the fixtures up and working!! And the undercabinet lights too. How exciting!! :)

More done in the master bathroom too....the shower door came and is installed! It looks really nice, but you sure could smell the adhesive in there! :) Also, the sinks and faucets are in there. Again, they need to do some serious cleaning in there and we also need the tile backsplash as well. It is sure getting closer now!!!


The painters have the outside all done in the dark brownish color. This week they should be working on painting the accent color (it is lighter..more cream colored I think). We are really happy with the color!!! :) Then they can stain the wood on the outside and add the other smaller wood pieces under Hailey's room.


It is sure coming together. Guess I should think about packing sometime soon, huh!??! Any volunteers to help???? ;)

MY daughter

Most days I see "Chris" in Hailey. There are a few occasions that I see "me" in her....especially when I make cookies and she wants some! :) However, last night, I saw more of "me" in her!!! My little girl....making her own book!! Karl & Jasmine gave her this kit for her birthday and last night we finally were able to take it out. She was so excited to create her own book...and she did such a fantastic job on it too. She had to spread it all out ... and then she got going. I think she would have worked on it all night if I would have let her (but I didn't since she had school today!). Next step will be to introduce pictures, and then she will be a lean, mean, scrapbooking machine! :)



Hailey, I am so proud of you! Ever since you have started kindergarten you have been such a good girl. Getting up early and getting yourself ready. Helping your brother (without being told). Telling us about your day at school. And just listening better. You are growing up waaay too fast!!!!!!! We love you so much sweetie!

(late) Weekend update

Having Monday off for Labor Day has really made this week CRAZY! :) We are still adjusting to school and actually having to leave the house at a certain time each day. I know...poor us! :) We were able to go to the cabin this past weekend, and it was so nice to be there for three days!! :)

Friday night ended up being a great night. After supper we decided to go into town for an ice cream treat (we haven't taken the time to do that yet this year). When we were getting out of the car, we saw the horse and wagon going around town. Most times it is FULL or we don't have time, but we were able to actually ride on it!! And, Hailey was able to ride up front with the driver too! She of course loved that!!! It was a fun ride around town. Then we got ice cream, told the kids we couldn't go back on the wagon again that night, and played at the cabin. FUN!

Saturday Chris and Doug went on the last hiking trip of the season. Chris "killed 'em" and Doug had a nice time hiking, but not fishing ;). The kids and I had fun too. We started the day by going to town as they had the "Fun Run" and lots of booths set up, activities, etc. Hailey got to have her picture taken by the moose...Ryan would have NOTHING to do with him! :) Then we stopped at the zoo to see our favorites...the buffalo, bears, owls, and of course Levi the coyote! :) The kids had fun of course. After a quick trip to the grocery store, we came back to the cabin for lunch and naps. Hailey was very excited to get up from her nap as I told her we could finger paint! :) Again, Ryan would have NOTHING to do with finger painting. Hailey was fine with it...but I wanted him to make a hand print too. There is always next year ;) Chris and Doug came back around supper time, and then our neighbors in Billings came up too. Busy day!



Sunday ended up being a very nice day as well. It started out raining, but then got very nice and even sunny out!! Chris and Doug worked on the cabin a little bit, and stacked more wood! :) Ryan was able to help and loved that he got to go UNDER the deck...I didn't like it, but got a quick picture! :) It was a nice day...and then it RAINED a lot in the evening and night, so we stayed in the cabin after supper.

Monday we pretty much got up, had breakfast, and got ready to go. It was raining and showed no signs of letting up (and never did!!) so we got back to Billings to get a few things done here. Still a wonderful weekend!!!

Soccer practice again

Wednesday nights are soccer nights...and I am so proud of Hailey!!! She doesn't know too much about it, but she is right there playing hard, working hard, and having fun with the other girls!! And she is doing so good at it!!! Her first game (and team pictures) are on Saturday. It could be interesting seeing the games and how they work together. I am sure there will be a few good laughs! :) We just need to work on what the cones mean with Hailey...she would get the ball and then just go....go.....go and didn't care if she was out of bounds or not. Doesn't matter...she was doing GREAT and we are so proud of her! Enjoy some pictures of my little soccer star :)

House update (9/3)

When Chris and I stopped by at noon on Wednesday, there wasn't too much happening at the house. I didn't think I would actually have an update or not. We stopped back after soccer, and there was a big change....they started painting the outside of the house!!! The garages are all done with the base color. I am sure they will do another coat and then they have to paint the accent color too, so they have plenty to do. It was still neat to see the color on it! :)

(3) I love how much sunlight I get in the house from the window above the front door (4) a peek at my double ovens :) (5) the plumbers were in there and got started again...the kids were happy to see their toilet

And, finally, when we were driving to the house, we got a little rain. Then it was sunny. The kids were very excited to see the rainbow that went around the house! You cannot tell in the picture, but the rainbow was on this side of the rims....very pretty! I told Chris we need to drive over there and look for the pot of gold! :)

House update (9/2)

Not too much to report for progress on Tuesday (nothing on Monday because of Labor Day). The painters were in there and took over the whole house!! They were painting the ceilings on most of the main floor again, and also working on painting the closets as well. They said they hope to start painting the outside of the house today, but it will depend on how much they have to do inside (and if they make them repaint the garage again too).

Hopefully more pictures will come later this week with a PAINTED outside! :)
